The idea makes all the sense in the world. Unfortunately, most of the people who would be in charge of implementing great ideas as these are clueless! I think that you are on the right track with your thinking. I have been saying for the past few years that we are either going to use all of the oil reserves and collapse, or start going green. I think that Gainesville will be ahead of the game on green services/products, which is good! If there were more options and better selections for people to take advantage of such products/services, more people would be persuaded to buy. It is mind of like organic food, expensive, less selections. However, you make it more affordable and more available, people will buy it. Good job!
I don't have an electric car and not many do yet, but I think it poses an interesting and highly unexploited opportunity to take advantage of. I would like to know how this product is something you could bring about to fruition. Were you more so planning on lobbying for existing companies like Tesla to set up shop here, or are you more thinking of creating a new charger station company?
We for sure need to get away from our dependence on foreign oil. I support any steps toward the right direction. I thought you included some good selling points, my only advice would be that you could possibly make the pitch slightly higher energy/ quicker pace. Other than that good job.
I did not know we used that much oil in a day in Florida, that is crazy and made for a great opening statement! I definitely see a need for more environmentally friendly vehicles which brings the need for more charging stations. It could be great if you could partner with a major player in the fuel industry at their gas stations. Since electric cars are taking away part of their market, this may be a way to bring the market back to them.
I love your idea, as I've mentioned in comments on previous posts you've made. I think it was a good idea to start with the stats on how much oil we as a state consume, and a good idea to pinpoint the specific places you want to place car charging stations in Gainesville with your reasons why. The detail helps! Your idea is a great one, so I would suggest practicing sounding more confident in your idea and implementation plan. Act like you know that you've got a golden idea! Great job!
