My Exit Strategy

  1. I intend to stay with my concept for at least the next decade, and I would like to retain majority ownership. I am not against giving up a certain percentage of my business up for further financial investment, and guidance.
  2. I have chosen this strategy because I would like to see the business grow, and see how it positively impacts the communities the product will be in. Also, I will be able to continue to grow my social and human capital in the process, which could lead to discovering more unmet needs in the environment. Thus, leading to potential opportunities that could lead to more business ventures overall.
  3. I believe my exit strategy has greatly influenced the decisions I have made for my concept. From the beginning, when I was trying to figure out an opportunity I wanted to do something that would make a difference for the future, and something that I would be able to be apart of for the start up and growing of it. Also, by being able to acquire additional resources definitely involves the growth of my concept from the Gainesville area to around the United States. Thus, leading to my initial thoughts of my exit strategy, and how I would like to be involved for quite sometime.

  1. Hi Patrick,

I think your exit strategy is súper realistic! I would also love to watch my business grow and expand but for that you need more money and more investors. Your plan of sharing a percentage is a great idea because business's get a little hectic when your running them by yourself.

  2. Hello Patrick, I think it is important that you are open to giving up some of your business to learn more and grow your business further. Most entrepreneurs have too much pride, therefore leaving them to do and figure everything out on their own. This gives you an advantage because a second, professional opinion, will help you more than you know.

  3. I respect your outlook on this business. It seems that your in it for the long haul, rather than looking at it strictly from a business standpoint. I did not share the same feeling with my concept, but I do agree if you're passionate about something you're way more likely to be successful with it.

  4. Hey Patrick,
I can appreciate that you are open to giving up some of your ownership in exchange for valuable resources, insight and leadership. I also really like the image you chose, it's so true. I began my business concept with an exit plan, and I can definitely say it's not an obsession of mine. I don't think that I would have enough love for it to want to fight the obstacles in my way during the startup and growth of the business.
